  • Prep Time:  40 minutes
  • Makes:  12 servings

Ingredients

12
plastic snap-apart 3 inch x 2 inch Easter eggs
12-36
toothpicks
3 Tbsp.
butter or margarine (diet, reduced calorie or tub margarine is not recommended)
1 pkg. (10 oz.)
regular marshmallows (approximately 40)
12-36 pieces
SunRype FruitSource Bars (any flavor, cut into pieces)
6 cups
Rice Krispies® cereal
1/2-1 cup
dark chocolate or semi-sweet chocolate baking melts

Instructions

Clean, then coat inside of plastic eggs with cooking spray. Set aside. In microwave-safe bowl heat butter and marshmallows on high for 3 minutes, stirring after 2 minutes. Stir until smooth. Add Rice Krispies cereal. Stir until well coated. Using greased hands, firmly press 1/4 cup of the cereal mixture into each plastic egg half. Use fingers to make hollow center in each half. Remove from molds. Place on wax paper. Cool slightly. In a microwave-safe bowl, melt chocolate in the microwave on medium, 30 seconds at a time until melted. Stick small pieces of FruitSource Bar pieces on a toothpick and dip in chocolate.  Let harden on wax paper in the fridge for a few minutes. Place 1-3 pieces (depending on size) of the chocolate covered FruitSource pieces in one half of each egg. Gently press two halves of each egg together until they stick. Cool completely. Best if served the same day. Store no more than two days at room temperature in an airtight container.

Please Note: For best results, use fresh marshmallows. 1 jar (7 oz.) marshmallow crème can be substituted for marshmallows.
